Why d'you think Google update the site as often as they do? Because as soon as they find out the Mozilla devs have come up with a workaround for whatever their latest hurdle happens to be, they throw 'em a curveball by immediately placing another one in their way. Some time back, there were angry outbursts from the Mozilla devs, to the effect that Google were deliberately "locking them out" from proper access to/use of YouTube by any means possible. Because Google - the developers & backers behind the Chromium Project - are also the same people that own the YouTube site, it stands to reason that they are going to optimise both the site AND the browser to play nice together. its funny cause I really dont otherwise like vivaldi interface, its clumsy. Oh you arent going to watch video with throttled data, but it doesnt require repeated timed out tries just to get into webmail site like with Firefox on MX. And yes I know throttled data is supposed to be painful to encourage you to purchase more fast data. When I run out of fast data tethered to my phone and am throttled, EasyOS+Vivaldi is the bees knees, its the only browser that isn't super painful and I mean the only browser, well in combo with EasyOS, it doesnt help used on MX or other distributions. Vivaldi with usual cookie autodelete, adblocker ultimate, and canvas fingerprint defender.
But I am using EasyOS and Vivaldi deb I downloaded from their site. I have no idea what it is about Vivaldi cause Chromium/Chrome is no faster than Firefox. I have firefox esr on fossapup but it's a tad heavy for my ageing laptop and vivaldi is my chromium browser of choice purely because it runs a damn sight better. Long time watching, it seems to stabilize at a specific temp and maybe go back and forth 1 or 2 degrees lower/higher.
